Rene Descartes



Rene Descartes was a French philosopher, mathematician and scientist. Dubbed the father of modern western philosophy, much of subsequent western philosophy is a response to his writings, which are studied closely to this day. A native of the Kingdom of France, he spent about 20 years (1629–49) of his life in the Dutch republic after serving for a while in the Dutch states army of Maurice of Nassau, Prince of orange and the stadtholder of the United Provinces. He is generally considered one of the most notable intellectual representatives of the Dutch Golden Age.

Control Yourself

First, I have a question for you all. How can you gain control over yourself, your thoughts, your mind or action and speech? It is simple, it can be done. First of all you need to control what goes into your thoughts, with reading, what movies you watch, the music you listen to. So if it does not inspire you or uplift you do not watch, read or listen to it. It is about being aware of things that   affect our state of mind as we are trying to retrain our thoughts.

We can stop negative thoughts like, "I can not, I'm hopeless". Then from now on when they appear, change it to "I will start something new and learn how to do it along the way." Control your mind every action and things you say. A good way to prompt yourself is to remember this every Time: "Is this helpful or hindrance?" "It will make you stop & think then come in a positive way." This will take self discipline, you just need to control yourself.

Now let's talk about the way to achieve the greatest victory ----- to conquer yourself. So what is he obstacle between you and happiness? Between you and   success? Between you and peace? The answer is the same for all of the question, You. You are the answer.

Ultimately, it is a conflict between your subconscious perception & beliefs about yourself & the world and what you consciously desire. Either you conquer and control your emotions, thoughts and attitude, or, they conquer and sabotage you.

Self-discipline is the ability to pursue what one thinks is right despite temptations to abandon it. The ability to say yes to the things you need to know. The ultimate goal is to do the right thing, to control and to conquer yourself.  When you conquer yourself, you become the mightiest warrior. You can do it!
